Spring Menu
As we leave winter behind and cheerfully welcome the Scottish springtime East Lothian’s farms and gardens begin to burst with some of the finest spring vegetables; some cracking purple sprouting broccoli, asparagus and spring greens to mention a few.
Here at the Nether Abbey we are lucky to have some of the best suppliers in the area. Our Scottish salmon, Dover sole and cockles from JK Thompson of Musselburgh are of the best quality. Similarly, you won’t find better than our pedigree Hampshire pigs from Peelham Farm and beautiful beef sourced from around the counties by our local butchers. Locally shot venison from neighbouring estates will also be featuring on this new menu.
Gourmet Burger Selection
With our Nether Abbey Burgers being a popular staple for locals and visitors alike, we have recently expanded the choices available to you. Ranging from “The Classic” to our chef’s dream burger, “The NAB”, you can have as much or as little as you like with the promise that it will always be top quality, Scottish prime beef or organic Gosford Estate chicken breast. We have also added a new “Fish Burger” to the menu using the finest hake from JK Thompson of Musselburgh.
Vegetarians
We have been harnessing the power of the aduki bean, combining it with the goodness of East Lothian’s vegetables and channelling it to you in the form of our Red Dragon Pie. Halloumi, fig and cherry tomato skewers are going down a storm as well, not to mention our outstanding “Halloumi Burger”.
All of our carefully sourced produce is creatively and competently cooked and brought to your table with a smile.
Beer Evolution
Here at the Nether Abbey we are always looking to be a step ahead of the other pubs in town by offering new and exciting beer from all over the UK. This month look out for more ale from brand new breweries that we’ve never featured before, including: Bristol Beer Factory and Buxton Brewery. These will be alongside some tried and tested craft beer and ale from Williams Bros, Tempest, Cromarty and Hawkshead breweries. We have also added Peroni to our permanent list and guarantee to be the only pub in town and one of only a few in East Lothian to bring you a lot of these exciting and interesting ales and craft beers! If you’re a real ale lover or just appreciate a good pint, then head down to our award winning bar this month and see what all the fuss is about.
