Nether Abbey Hotel – Statement, Covid-19

We have stepped up precautionary arrangements throughout the hotel to help guard against the spread of Covid-19 and the safety of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us. We take the utmost care to ensure every stay with us is safe, clean and comfortable.

We work closely with our cleaning product suppliers to ensure that we have industry standard cleaning materials in use throughout the building to keep all areas of the hotel sanitized and hygienic. Our dedicated housekeeping team ensure thorough cleaning of all rooms, public areas and dining areas happens daily. We have produced a comprehensive risk assessment to mitigate against the risk posed by Covid-19 and accompanying method statements for tasks carried out by staff in the hotel.

Guests are welcomed to the Nether Abbey Hotel with our usual warmth and friendliness.

In order to care for guests, we have briefed our employees on guidelines provided by Public Health Scotland.

Our preventative measures include:

• Our team has new “no contact” protocols – including handshakes
• We have removed non-essential items to minimise any contamination risk
• Guests are requested to feel free to take individual amenities with them upon departure as they will otherwise be disposed off
• In-house guests are requested to use their bedroom toilets rather than those in public areas
• Enhanced cleaning in public areas with increased frequency in disinfection of high touch areas, including reception, bar areas, restaurant, conservatory, and other high-traffic public areas throughout the hotel
• Hand sanitizers placed at guest contact areas, including the reception area, the garden, the restaurant and throughout the premises
• Ensuring all staff wear face coverings whilst on duty
• Social distancing measures are in place in all common areas

We hope that the implementation of these measures will help give our guests the confidence and assurance needed to enjoy and relax their time with us and all that the Nether Abbey Hotel and the town of North Berwick has to offer.
